Steenbeck Notch Detector

Steenbeck notch detector render

This is a modification for Steenbeck flatbed editing tables to perform notch detection when using it as a contact printer. Developed in collaboration with Dianna Barrie and Richard Touhy of nanolab, this notch detector is fitted on the feed side of the film path of the Steenbeck and triggers an RGB lamp to change light values when notches are detected. Notches can be made on the film with a hole punch and a microswitch should be attached to the printed part so that the switch closes when un-notched film passes below it and opens when there is a notch.
